Plantar Fasciitis and Everyday Living

September 17, 2012

Lately, I’ve been writing about Plantar Fasciitis for Walk About Magazine. You can find Plantar Fasciitis: An Alternative Perspective online. The second, Plantar Fasciitis: Lose Rigidity, Gain Resilience, is on newsstands, but not available online yet. I’ll post a link as soon as it is.

I love writing for Walk About and it seems unbelievable to say it’s been eight  years. The articles I’ve written are about things like plantar fasciitis, posture, walking, returning to activity after an injury, and other ways of incorporating things you have learned in a Feldenkrais class or private lesson into everyday living. You can find a complete list HERE. My regular students will recognize much of the content, since what I write and what I teach are very, very closely connected.

And, in preparation for classes this week (yes, we begin on 9/19 and 9/21), I’m putting the final touches on the curriculum for a 5-week class series called Posture: Returning to Neutral. Special emphasis will be placed on counteracting the flexed and inflexible way we often sit so we can stand and walk with more grace, balance, and fluidity. Classes Wednesday noon and Fridays 10:45.
